i sat there in the running car until your room lights went offat the spot where i always wait for you
staring at nothing and everything
and at the empty ghost walking towards me
how i waited there for you, looking through the street directory so that we won't lose our way later
how we sat there in the running car deep in the night for so many nights
praying that time would slow down just a little for us
and sometimes my heart beats like a drum and my hands start to tremble.
i'll watch you walk towards me and i try to hide the smile on my face

tonight, time seems to be taking its own sweet time
while i sat there alone, knowing you're never gonna come down
drowning all the voices in my head with our songs
until i felt like veering the car off the road
just so that everything would be easier
i don't have to wake up tomorrow morning and face the world
i don't have to slather a smile on my face and let everyone know i'm fantastic
i don't have to walk around and have every place remind me of you..
we lost our way, didnt we.. we lost our way.
